Minor Hockey runs from September until the end of March/ beginning of April.

Teams can expect to be on the ice two times a week.

Practices are generally during the week and games on the weekend.

There are 18 games a season, 9 home and 9 away.

Only after registration has closed and tryouts are over, we can make the teams. An initial  practice schedule will be released end of September, beginning of October depending on the level.

The complete practice schedule can only be made once the game schedule has been released by the EHL.

Only after the EHL makes the game schedule can MWH make the practice schedule. Please continue to check our website at www.mwhhockey.ca for any updates.

Location

In general teams have one practice and one game a week.

Can be at any rink located in our league (CSL, St. Laurent, Lasalle, TMR, Westmount, Lachine)

Evaluations

Players must be registered in the HCR in order to attend the tryouts.

Tryouts begin at the end of September in the following order. Groups for the tryouts are posted on the MWH hockey website at https://www.mwhhockey.ca

Uniform

All players are expected to wear full hockey equipment at all practices and games.

After the teams have been made there will be a uniform pick up date posted on the MWH hockey website. A payment of $150.00 is required at registration as a deposit for the uniform. Once we receive back both jerseys in good condition, we will reimburse you.

Players will be given a Home and Away jersey plus game socks.

These jerseys are NOT to worn during practice, only at games.

Cost for 2022-2023 season is $616.98 + $78.02 (Hockey Quebec & Hockey Canada membership fees) = $695.00

Additional charges may be applies for tournaments

Coaches Information

All of our coaching staff is supported by our Hockey Director, Eric Rayment and the MWH Hockey Administration, Samantha Mitra.

Coaches, assistant coaches and managers are volunteers who are subject to an annual background check prior to the season.

Hockey Canada and Hockey Quebec requires coaches & managers at all levels to take online and some on ice coaching clinics. These courses are reimbursed to the coaches once they have passed and take a few hours once a year.

Each team is required to have two coaching staff who have Respect in Sport and Safety training.

Referee Information

All referees must register and attend referee courses provided by Lac St Louis Hockey. These courses are generally at the beginning of the season. MWH Hockey will partially reimburse the cost of the course once the referee has passed.
